While I like it with spreads, jam, and/or butter, my husband likes dipping this bread (that my kids call as cake instead) in salsa 🙂
4 1/4 c bread flour
1 tbsp milk powder (either full cream or skim is fine)
1/2 c molasses
2 tbsp margarine/butter, room temperature if butter
1 tbsp active dry yeast
1 3/4 c lukewarm water
Prove yeast in water for 5 minutes
Mix flour and milk powder, make a well in center, pour yeast and add in margarine and molasses, mix well
Pour batter into prepared pan (greased and floured) and let stand for an hour (batter will be doubled in size)
Preheat oven to 350 F and bake bread for 25-30 minutes
NOTE: if you’d like to make it as a loaf, while mixing ingredients, add 1 tbsp flour at a time until dough is form, then place into a loaf pan
